Combitube vs. King LT

Our department is currently using the Combitube for a blind insertion airway adjunct, but there seems to be quite a buzz about the King LT airway. Has anybody out there used both? If so, what did you find as advantages and disadvantages of each? I researching it to see about having our department change to the King LT if it is as superior as they claim.

The service I work for switched to the King airway about 6 months ago. IMHO it is far better than the combitube. The King airway is easer and faster to use. One syringe inflates both cuffs at the same time. The only advantage I see for the combitube is if you accidentally intubate the patient, you can use it as a drug route. You cannot do this with the King airway. I personally have never see and intubation occur with a combitube, though I know it can happen, so I see this as little value.

On a side note, the service I work for considered the combitude as an ALS procedure and the King airway as a BLS.

Thanks for the info, but what about inserting an orogastric tube with the King? It works so slick with the CombiTube, is it as easy with the King, it doesn't look as simple.
