Jon and others,

I think that what Jon was referring to is the basic math and reading test that some schools are using to test basic educational ability. This is stuff like looking at a phone book yellow pages section and comparing advertisements to determine which store offers the best deal. Or, making change from a series of purchases. This is to test from a baseline ability. This tells the instructors that you all are starting with at least a basic ability in math and reading.

I believe you are looking for preparation material for the HOBET (Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test). You can Google the term and find some help in both study courses, books, and online practice exams. One site is here: http://www.testprepreview.com/hobet_practice.htm , and in fact this site has numerous practice exams for many other occupations.

Good luck.
